Meet the Artist

Janet Fox Ridgill

Janet Fox Ridgill is a native Tennessean, covering all of the Grand Divisions - born in East Tennessee, raised in West Tennessee, and has called Nashville home for nearly 30 years.

She has been teaching visual art at the middle and high school levels for over 20 years. The art classroom is more than a workplace—it is a perpetual engine for creativity. In the pursuit of being a life-long learner, she has explored a variety of art media with a particular affinity for the tactile nature of charcoal and the structural complexities of printmaking and sculpture.

She attributes her early interest in art and design to a childhood spent among mid-century design and eclectic European treasures—a legacy of her parents’ years stationed abroad that continues to shape her visual language today.
